Hebron (Al-Khalil)

The Ibrahimi Mosque and the Tomb of the Patriarchs share one building, and believers share it uneasily. Below stand the glassblowers’ kilns and the Old Town, UNESCO-listed in 2017.

Hebron is also where the occupation is most visible: settlement compounds sit directly above the market streets, and parts of the Old City are emptied by closed shops and checkpoints.
